Dr. DeFrancesco is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Long active in ACOG, he is currently the Chair of ACOG's District I and is a member of ACOG's Executive Board. Dr. DeFrancesco received his undergraduate education at Yale University and is a graduate of University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut Health Center and New Britain General Hospital.
From 1987 through 1995 he served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, and has been a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care since 1994. Since 2000, he has been a member of the AAAHC Board of Directors, and served as its Vice President in 2008. He is also a member the Board of the AAAHC's Institute for Quality Improvement.
Dr. DeFrancesco has also been a member of the Council of the New England Ob-Gyn Society since 1995, and is currently its Secretary. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut Health Center. |
